Building on this foundation, the World Bank, through the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), is supporting the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Renewable Energy/Solar (CERES) at the University of Baghdad. CERES aims to strengthen Iraq’s capacity to develop renewable energy resources, promote science- and technology-based approaches to the energy transition (including energy efficiency), and contribute to national and regional clean energy objectives.
