| Description | Karbala Oil Refinery is a crude oil refinery, located 40 kilometers from the center of Karbala city. Its foundation was laid in 2014, at a total construction cost of six and 500 million dollars, and Korean companies built it in Hyundai showrooms. The bride is estimated at an area of 6 million square meters, and a refining capacity of 140 thousand furnaces. It is the first refinery in Iraq with Euro 5 specifications. It is supplied with oil from Basra. The refinery produces 9 million liters of fuel per day. Among the products, gasoline with a purity of up to 95 octane, as well as other petroleum derivatives. The refinery produces 4 million liters of fuel oil, 3 million liters of white oil, in addition to 1000 tons of asphalt per day. The production of cooking gas is 750 tons per day, solid sulfur is 360 tons per day, and heavy fuel is 8 million liters per day. The refinery is supplied with water from Tuwairj by a river pump and contains four units that produce 200 megawatts of electricity to cover its needs. |
